Andreas Wollheim new head of SEB Investment Management’s fundamental equity management

Andreas Wollheim, who is currently head of Trading and Treasury at SEB Investment Management, is also taking over as head of Fundamental Equities after Per Trygg, who has chosen to move on to Lannebo Fonder.

“Andreas Wollheim has over 20 years of experience in various roles in the financial sector, both in equity trading and as a portfolio manager. He also has many years of experience from SEB, and SEB Investment Management particularly. In his role as head of Trading and Treasury, Andreas has displayed excellent leadership and is a much appreciated colleague. I am therefore very pleased that Andreas is taking on this new challenge and I am convinced that with his help we will lift the fundamental equity management to a new level, says Javiera Ragnartz, Head of SEB Investment Management.

The fundamental nordic equity management has been successful for a long time and is an essential part of the bank’s services. Now the plan is to also build a global fundamental equity management in world-class. Today, the global equity funds are largely managed quantitative. During the year, the first step was taken as the sector funds were moved to the fundamental management. A recruitment process to supplement with global management is in progress.

“In a management organisation such as SEB Investment Management, you need to have both quantitative and fundamental managed equity funds and I see these different management philosophies as complementary rather than competitive. Therefore, it is incredibly fun to have the opportunity to build a gobal fundamental equity management from scratch, where sustainability will be one of the cornerstones of the investment process”, says Andreas Wollheim, newly Head of SEB Investment Management’s fundamental equity management.

SEB IM has also recruited Jimmy Bengtsson who will take over the management of the Swedish and Nordic Small Cap funds after Per Trygg and Bengtsson will manage them together with the other members of the Small Cap team. Jimmy comes from Skandia, where he has managed Swedish Small Cap for the past 15 years. He will start no later than October 1, 2021.

“I am very happy to welcome Jimmy to the small cap management and is convinced that he will be a good addition to the group, not least his experience of working with unlisted companies”, says Andreas Wollheim.
